| Application | Isophytol was used to study the acidities and acidity-catalytic activity relationships for sulfonic acid-functionalized ionic liquids with pyridinium cations. Regioselective condesation of trimethylhydroquinone with isophytol produced (±)-α-tocopherol (vitamin E; Tf= CF3SO2).
